Katherine Webb To Pose For Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue? (VIDEO)

Katherine Webb could soon appear in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue according to reports by Yahoo.

Webb, who is the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, gained national attention last week during Alabama's National Championship victory over Notre Dame. ESPN's Brent Musburger even focused specifically on her during the broadcast which has caused a national debate on whether he went too far.

The reigning Miss Alabama may have let the cat out of the bag this week regarding an upcoming S.I. photo shoot when she stated "It's official...shooting with Sports Illustrated!" on Twitter.

The tweet was soon deleted, but not before it was saved and retweeted by many of her fans. The deleted post could mean that she wasn't supposed to say anything until Sports Illustrated was ready to announce the news.

Webb is hardly the first model to use sports to enhance her career. Kate Upton, arguably the most sought after model in the business today, saw her career skyrocket after a video of her doing the dance called "The Dougie" at a Clippers game went viral. She went on to grace the cover of Vogue and appeared in the movie "Tower Heist" shortly after.

Model Hannah Davis, who is dating New York Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter, is reportedly the front runner to be on the issue's cover according to The Huffington Post. Sports Illustrated has also revealed Upton, last year's cover girl, will be featured in the issue again as well.
