‘Overwatch’ Director Expresses Dislike For Adapters Which Enable Mouse And Keyboard Controls For Consoles

When a popular game like "Overwatch" gets competitive, it is noticed that the players take any opportunity that presents itself to give them a competitive advantage over other players. While there are various tips and tricks to ace the game, it is not reported that players even make modifications on their consoles to give them an upper edge.

It is seen that there are users who create an imbalance in competition by attaching a mouse and keyboard controls in their consoles. It isn't completely fair as this gives them an upper edge over other players in the game.

"Overwatch" is a game in which multiple shooters are involved. It was always a debatable subject as to whether analog control sticks or mouse and keyboard controls should be used in games such as this, reported Digital Trends.

All the players take one of the sides and they have their own scheme to control the game. However, of late, there are many third-party adapters which help the player to use mouse and keyboard even over a console like Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Jeff Kaplan, the game director for "Overwatch", is against the strategy of the players who take advantage of this unfair opportunity, reported PC World.

"The Overwatch team objects to the use of mouse and keyboard on console," said Kaplan. "We have contacted both first-party console manufacturers and expressed our concern about the use of mouse and keyboard and input conversion devices."

Blizzard came up with an idea as a remedy for this issue faced. It urged the console makers to either disallow the use of mouse and keyboard attachments to the consoles or add the support themselves which the player can use by choice.

"I encourage you to reach out to the hardware manufacturers and express your concerns (but please do so in a productive and respectful way)," urged Kaplan.

Like Kaplan suggested, to balance competition, allowing mouse and keyboard control options when playing "Overwatch" may be the best option.
