2017 Volvo S90: The Luxury Sedan

Elegant, confident, powerful and simple are just a few of the characteristics on the table that the new 2017 Volvo S90 has to offer. It is a car that speaks for itself.

According to New Year Times, for those looking for a new sedan, then the 2017 Volvo S90 should be on the test drive list. The T5 model comes with 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine. There is also a T6 model that comes with supercharging to the turbo that increases the horsepower up to 316. Both of the models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission. There are few drive modes that adjust the steering, throttle and transmission mapping.

The interior is top notch. Both the back and the front seat are made of high-quality leather and are designed around driver's natural body shape. However, the heated seats aren’t standard for all S90 models. There is plenty of space in front and the rear can accommodate three tall passengers with ease. However, the trunk size is little smaller compared to other sedans.

Car And Driver reported that the fuel economy is also a strong suit to the 2017 Volvo S90. T5 achieved 26 mpg overall and 33 mpg in their 200mile 75mph highway fuel economy test, to the T6 model’s 22-mpg and 31-mpg results. They also reported that the car practically drives itself. 2017 Volvo S90 is equipped with the sophisticated Pilot Assist semi-autonomous system that is standard on every S90.

Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist which makes the car follow the traffic lane markings on the highway at speeds up to 80mph. With Pilot Assist, drivers are able to take hands off the wheel for only 15 seconds at a time. However, some of the cars can let drivers do that for a whole 60 seconds. This is a huge leap for Volvo, the carmaker company that hast long-standing priority for safety.
