The Motorola Moto Z unlocked variant is finally getting its Android 7.0 Nougat firmware. Previously, this update was only available to the Moto Z that was a Verizon-exclusive. With the latest update, it is now made available for the worldwide unlocked variant.

It explained that the unlocked variant of the smartphone was released months after the original Verizon version and was made with by different software teams. As a consequence, its update also came later.
The latest Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Motorola modular smartphone brings quite a number of new features. The quick settings in the notification shade have been updated to take up less space. Moreover, there is no need to expand the area in order to see the notification shade. "Doze" is also improved which will allow Moto Z users to enjoy a longer battery life. Perhaps the biggest feature is that the new update is Daydream-compatible so users can now check out some virtual reality content.
For Moto Z owners, the update is available through downloading it. Go to Settings > About Phone > System Update and then tap on "check for update." It should be available for download. It is a relatively huge update so it is best to be connected to Wi-Fi before trying to download it, as well as freeing up some memory.
