"Final Fantasy XV" has been a massive hit thanks to its strong digital sales on PS4 and Xbox One. PC gamers won't feel left out any longer as game director Hajime Tabata plans on shipping the open-world action video game to PC.

Gematsu translated the interview between Weekly Famitsu and "Final Fantasy XV" director Hajime Tabata, according to GameSpot. The director has confirmed plans on releasing the game on PC as a technical attempt.

"I want to show PC users Final Fantasy XV running on high-end machines." Also, another reason for the director is that he and Square Enix wants to discover how players will create mods for the game. "I would like to try developing on PC to pursue a unique way of playing with PC-exclusive features like making your own quests and enjoying the world using things like mods," said Tabata.

A number of hit game franchises didn't make it to PC because some have seen that sometimes, mods can go over and beyond compared with the paid DLC pack. This allows players to get more than what they paid for. One great example for this is that Delphi programmers were able to reverse engineer the file encryption on "GTAV" so that they could add mods to the game.

"Final Fantasy XV" is out on 2 platforms: PS4 and Xbox One. Imagine the world of "Final Fantasy" on 4K and using EVGA GTX 1080 and 32GB of OC Vengeance RAM. The depth of what modders could accomplish is unimaginable, much like what they did to "Skyrim." Although both current platforms for the game are truly powerful, it certainly has limitations that only high-end PCs have.

Meanwhile, the release dates for the upcoming DLC have been announced. On Feb. 21, the first DLC will go live and will be followed on March 28.

"Final Fantasy XV" fans are indeed looking forward to seeing the game on PCs. Further, the DLC that would bring players to the PlayStation VR world of "Final Fantasy" is under development. But Hajime Tabata is still unsure as to when this will be launched.
