The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA Class Gets A Facelift

Mercedes-Benz' compact crossover, the GLA class, has been in the market for several years and the vehicle recently received a facelift.  The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA class does not look much different compared with its predecessors except for some new wheel designs, new front and rear bumpers, and LED lamps, which are a standard for GLA45 and optional on GLA250.

This newly designed crossover will compete with the likes of Audi Q3, BMW X1, Acura RDX, and Lexus NX. Three years since launching the GLA class, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the refreshed model that will hit store fronts in the middle of 2017.

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA45 is more aggressive compared with the GLA250. The GLA45 is equipped with the AMG Performance Studio Package. Also, this vehicle has shorter ratios for its gears 3 until 7 in its dual-clutch transmission.

This vehicle is fitted with 2.0-liter, M133 engine, a variant developed by AMG that produces 375 horses and a 350 lb-ft of torque. According to CarAndDriver, this AW type can reach a 0-60mph dash in 4.2 seconds during testing.

Meanwhile, the entry-level 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 is equipped with a 2.0-loter turbocharged inline-four engine capable of 208 horsepower with a maximum 258 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive is standard for this model.

Also, a 4MATIC all-wheel drive is optional for consumers. An off-road suspension is optional as well for the GLA250, which means that the vehicle will be 20mm above ground higher.

The interior also has gone under the knife but with only minor significant upgrades. The seats for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA series will have microfiber inserts. And a black-and-yellow variant will also be available in the market, which is expected to be successful according to CarsInTrend.

Practical additions have also made their way to the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA series. This is inclusive of a standard rearview camera which comes with an optional 360-degree view, Smartphone Integration package adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, proximity entry and keyless ignition with an optional Premium package, and motion sensor to open or close the power rear hatch.

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA models will soon arrive, mostly likely in the summer of 2017. Prices could remain near to those of the older models. But Mercedes-Benz has kept a tight lid regarding the prices for both the GLA250 and GLA45 models.
