5 Years Later, A Major Google Voice Update Has Arrived

Just a few weeks ago, Google has been teasing a lot of Google Voice update online. Well, the update has finally arrived.

Alphabet's Google announced its newly refreshed and improved Google Voice. It was reported that the company is currently pushing out updated versions of the Google Voice app for Android, iOS, and of course, the web.

So, what is Google Voice? Unsurprisingly, there are over 3.5 million people who are using this free app by Google. The name itself might be unheard of, or unfamiliar, but millions of individuals use it every single day.

Google bought this service back in 2007 and released it as their own product in 2009. It's an app is a centralized text, call, and voicemail service. Today, the Google Voice has been redesigned and has acquired a couple more features which it has always lacked.

According to Google's blog post, the Voice's inbox will now be including separate tabs for text messages, calls and voicemails. It was also stated that individual conversation will be streamlined in one continuous thread. This will help users see all messages from each of their contacts easily and all in one place.

Of course, the update is not only appearance-wise. It will also bring in some new features such as photo MMS across platforms and virtually all major carriers. The photo MMS feature will show up as inline content inside conversations. It will be user-friendly as it will be pretty much the same on any other messaging software.

There will now be a group messaging feature as well. Again, this new feature will work as any other text messaging app would. The voicemail transcription feature will remain.

Another cool Google Voice update will be the introduction of the Spanish transcription. According to reports, Google is also planning on adding more language transcription down the line.
