It was recently announced that the Mercedes-Maybach SUV crossover would occur in the near future. Finally, the brand has announced that the GLS Next-Gen Platform-based model would be released by 2019. In fact, the development was constructed due to ultra-luxe SUV market segment development. What does German automaker have in store?
The Specs. The Mercedes-Maybach SUV crossover will have a package based upon the next-generation GLS platform which holds visual features distinct from its prior models. It would be incorporated with exterior updates ranging from its taillights, headlights, front grille, wheels, and chrome trim. As reported by Motor Trend, materials to be used for the model would be an upgrade from the Mercedes Designo lineup which would make it outlandish with a single wheelbase.
The Mercedes-Maybach SUV crossover model would be powered by a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 or a 6.0L twin-turbocharged V12 engine. Furthermore, some of its features would be inspired by the Maybach 6 Coupe concept which was first hinted in Pebble Beach last year. Being a part of the luxury automobile market, the latest model would likewise have similar looks to the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and would have a rear seat legroom. The second generation GLS is currently at 5,130mm by 5,199mm. The updated version would be 80mm longer than the 5,140mm as part of the future brand franchise models.
The Competition. The German automaker manifested the design to make the model more competitive in the ultra-luxe SUV market segment. As reported by Auto Car, this segment first opened up when the Bentley Bentayga was released to the market. Now, the Range Rover SV Autobiography Dynamic and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan are expected to compete in the same. Given that, the Mercedes-Maybach SUV crossover model would have similar performance, accommodation, and exterior features with its competitors just that the sub-brand would have unique graphics.
The Mercedes-Maybach SUV crossover model would be available as a 2019 model. Furthermore, the market value of the vehicle was predicted to be around £150,000.
