Google's newest smartphone the Nexus 4 quickly sold out earlier this month after making its debut on the Google Play store, but interested buyers recieved some good news today. As of 3 p.m. the phone was offically available again on the Google Play store for purchase.
"Nexus 4 will be available for purchase later today!" Google said in a brief email to customers who asked to be notified about the phone's availability. "Order yours from Google Play starting today, November 27 (U.S. only)."
The company does advise those who are interested in the phone to act fast however, as they can't promise the phone will be in stock for long. They couldn't reveal how many devices they have for sale as well.
Google advertises the phone as a 4.7-inch device with a "top notch" 8-megapixel rear-facing camera system that allows users to experience features like Photo Sphere. The Google Now system is one of the main reasons customers have flocked for the device as well as it allows users to get information like the weather, traffic reports, and sports scores faster than ever before.
The phone also features its top of the line Google Maps system which has received praise from fans of the Map system and rivals like Apple alike the past couple of months. Apple has taken a lot of heat lately for releasing the iPhone 5 with such a lackluster map system that they have resorted to advising users to download other mapping apps while they continue working out the kinks with Apple Maps.
The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system can be found on the Nexus 4 but also on devices like the Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 tablets according to the company website. Each also comes with 2 GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.
Both versions of the Nexus 4 are currently only sold through the Google Play store in the 8 GB version for $299 or the 16 GB version for $349. The 16 GB version is also being sold through T-Mobile for $199.99 if you agree to a two-year contract according to the T-Mobile website.
