Florida Woman Drives 100 MPH In 30 MPH Speed Zone Because ‘God Told Her To’ (SEE MUG SHOT)

People try to get out of speeding tickets every day in the U.S. and in many creative ways. This one may be one of the strangest reported however.

Melissa Miller, 41, was reportedly driving her silver Toyota on U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce, FL at 1 a.m. on Tuesday when she was pulled over for speeding and blowing her horn inappropriately. According to the police report, Miller was going 100 mph in a 30 mph speed zone.

When police officers questioned Miller why she was driving so fast and if she was aware she was going around 70 mph over the speeding limit, her answer was not expected.

"I was letting the Lord spirit guide me," Miller said according to TCPalm.com.

She responded with a similar answer when officers asked why she was honking her horn for so long stating it was because of "the Lord telling me to do it."

Miller was then taken to St. Lucie County Jail and placed under a $375 bail bond. She was charged with reckless driving and for violating her probation for leaving the scene of an accident with injuries according to The Huffington Post.

When a police officer tried to get the vehicle to pull over, Miller sped the car up, "swerved across two southbound lanes" and almost hit a curb and two vehicles according to TCPalm.com.

Police had the car towed away after making the arrest.

Hopefully Miller and her lawyer are able to come up with a better story when the case makes its way to trial.
