Skype 3.0 Arrives for Android: Company Promises Better Call Quality, Design, With Microsoft Login For Nexus 7, Galaxy Tab 2 Tablets (VIDEO)

Skype has finally released the 3.0 app for Android devices today designed to further enhance your tablet experience. The new feature include a new Microsoft login and Android user interface according to the company's website and can be utilized on many different devices.

Devices like the Nexus 7, the ASUS Transformer Prime, and Galaxy Tab 2 are just a few examples that will be able to utilize the redesigned calling feature. The navigation and menus are a little different now as the company focused on making things easier for users this time around.

The new app is now available at the Google Play store.

The update for the Nexus 7 is mainly a revamped appearance and home screen as experts were disappointed the camera doesn't utilize more of the tablet's screen when someone places a video chat call. Skype could have made this feature much better this time around seeing as the Nexus 7 has become a popular device all-around the globe.

"With so many now using tablets to make video and voice calls with Skype, this latest version is optimized to scale to your tablet's bigger screen, so you can experience Skype on a larger display wherever you go," Derek Snyder, head of mobile product marketing at Skype, wrote in a blog post Tuesday.

The Android 3.0 version includes a slightly improved video chat feature and the audio while making a call has also improved greatly according to company's website. Thanks to the company's audio codec SILK, Skype says that you should experience a better sound quality as the company focused a lot of time and effort into making the audio a little more "crisp and clear."

The codec also works with the improved internet connection speed to help prevent users from getting disconnected while in the middle of a video chat call. Getting the app to load may take a little longer than most people would like, but once the app is up and running you'll rarely have trouble hearing someone or keeping a connection.
