Infiniti Electric Sports Car Confirmed For 2010; Tesla Model S Beware

Roland Krueger, head of Infiniti, has revealed that the premium brand is working on a 100% Infiniti Electric Sports Car that will hit the market in 2020. It will have a very high performance, and the brand has confirmed that it already has the first prototype for testing.

There are few occasions in which the possibility of Infiniti launching a 100% electric vehicle was talked about. The fact that the premium brand owned by Nissan has developed more than one prototype equipped with this type of electrical mechanics has only increased speculations. To this, one must add the various reports about Infiniti launching an electric car based on the Nissan Leaf. The speculations and reports are over, and now it is official.

Roland Krueger, head of Infiniti, has confirmed that the brand will launch its first Infiniti electric car by the end of this decade. Moreover, Krueger has revealed that they are already working on new prototypes of tests to accelerate the development phase of this new model of which there are still not many details to work on. Kruger admits that it will be a high-performing, powerful sports car, according to RoadandTrack.

In addition, Krueger has said that one could drive this future Infiniti electric sports car with ease at all times. The office of the luxury brand has stressed the importance of being able to maintain the values of Infiniti's level of performance while driving this electric vehicle, according to AutoEvolution.

Another important detail Krueger has revealed is that this first electric is mounted on its own platform. One can dismiss the rumors that it is a model based on the current Leaf or its second generation. However, this does not mean that Infiniti will not benefit from all the technologies developed by Nissan in the field of electric mobility.

It is clear that some of the reasons that have led Infiniti to embark on the adventure of developing their own electric sports car started from the unstoppable rise of demand, especially in China.
