The world premiere of the Nintendo Switch mobile and home gaming system is 48 hours away. This event will be globally livestreamed on January 12 via YouTube and Switch. The presentation will reveal the launch date and pricing for the successor to the Japanese gaming giant's portable DS handheld and home console line Wii.
The Nintendo Switch presentation will also delve on the lineup of games being developed for the console. Several publishers, developers, and middleware partners are working with Nintendo for the games lineup. Some of them include UBISOFT, Electronic Arts, and SEGA Games Co. Ltd.
Nintendo is also planning to conduct sampling events for invited media, partners, and consumers. These invite-only events will be held in the U.S. and Europe after the Nintendo Switch presentation. Other hands-on events are also on being planned.
The Nintendo Switch presentation will start at 8 pm PST and 11 pm EST on January 12 in North America. Viewers can visit regional official websites such as nintendo.com/switch, nintendo.co.uk/switch, and nintendo.fr/switch to access live video. Live streams are also available on Nico Nico and Line.
The January 12 presentation will be held in Tokyo, Japan so the event will be in the Japanese language. The Nintendo Switch proceedings will be translated by either voiceovers or subtitles. Expected running time is less than an hour.
The Nintendo Switch will be released to the market in March 2017. The device can be switched between home and portable modes. Nintendo posts the gaming system as a combination of the mobility of the handheld and the power of a home gaming system.
Speculations about the device's price mark the Nintendo Switch at less than $250. This has not been confirmed yet and might be revealed during the presentation.
