"Fast 7" was a bittersweet experience for the cast members as they bid farewell to one of the iconic characters of the franchise - Brian O'Connor. When Paul Walker passed away, the epic ending of the previous installment of the franchise was an emotional experience for both the fans and the crew. However, recent reports suggested that in "The Fate of the Furious," a new cast member could be Brian O'Connor's replacement in the franchise.
Scott Eastwood, the lead actor in the movie "The Last Ride," was lodged as one of the new cast members for the upcoming "The Fate of the Furious," the eighth installment of "The Fast and the Furious" franchise. With his similarities to the late Paul Walker, reports had suggested that he may have been lodged as the character replacement for Brian O'Connor.
Per Den of Geek, the first trailer suggested that the family feud between Dominic Toretto and the rest of "The Fate and the Furious" team suggested that the loss of Brian O'Connor took a huge toll on their leader. When Eastwood was cast for the upcoming movie, his character was revealed to be one of Kurt Russel's police assets. Judging by the character's similarity to O'Connor's, the source suggested that this could be Walker's counterpart in the franchise, reported Entertainment Weekly. In fact, his role was deemed to clash with Toretto's gang but likewise suggested that he may become a new member of the family.
In other news, Toronto Sun reported that Vin Diesel, the actor who plays Dom Toretto, has shared an Instagram post which was captioned "You Pablo have given me strength... purpose and resolve. I promised you we would make something you would be proud of and I pray that we have... miss you. Family above everything."
The caption suggested that Diesel's character may have shown his negative side in the upcoming "The Fate of the Furious" movie due to the loss of his comrade in the franchise. With the mention of family, did that suggest that Scott Eastwood may be joining his in the eight installment? Stay tuned for more updates.
