Nissan Motor Company has only just released its production, sales, and export figures for July 2012.
Production
Among the countries in which the car company has manufacturing facilities are Japan, the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Spain, and China. The company produced 408,309 units globally, a 5.1-percent increase over the previous July and the best-ever figure for any July.
Not every region saw a production increase, however.
Production in Japan decreased 7.8 percent from last July, to 103,107 units. Nissan attributes this to decreased demand for the Note, which is nearing the end of its model life.
Production outside of Japan increased 10.2 percent year-on-year, to 305,202 units, an all-time high.
In the US, production rose 21.5 percent to 46,434 units. Nissan says this is due primarily to increased demand for the new Infiniti JX and Nissan Frontier truck.
In Mexico, production increased 60.3 percent year-over-year to 53,247 units, due to a rise in demand for the Versa and the Sentra.
In the UK, production increased 6.3 percent year-over-year to 35,235 units, due to greater demand for the Qashqai and the Juke.
In Spain, production decreased 14.2 percent to 13,507 units, and 3.2 percent in China to 107,754 units.
Production in other regions increased 8.5 percent to 49,025 units, which Nissan says is due mainly to increased desire for the Sunny in India and the Almera in Thailand.
Sales
Global sales increased 9.5 percent over last July to 415,043 units, another record for the month.
Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 59,936 units in Japan, up 14.6 percent year-over-year. These included a 7.3-percent increase for regular vehicles to 44,874 units, due primarily to increased demand for the Serena and the new NV350 Caravan. Mini-vehicle sales in Japan were at an all-time record, increasing 43.7 percent to 15,062 units. Nissan says this is due largely to a rise in consumer demand for the Moco and the Roox, which qualify for Japan's government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.
Sales outside of Japan increased 8.7 percent year-over-year to a record 355,107 units.
Sales in the US increased 16.2 percent over July 2011, to 98,341 units. Driving the increase were sales of the Altima, Versa, Rogue, Infiniti G, and new Infiniti JX.
In Europe, sales decreased 3.2 percent from last year to 53,323 units. This was in spite of increased demand for the Juke, and increased sales in Russia.
In China, sales decreased 2.0 percent to 98,086 units.
Sales in other regions increased 29.2 percent over July 2011 to 80,761 units, mainly due to increased demand in Brazil, India, Thailand and Indonesia.
Exports
Nissan's exports in July decreased 10.3 percent year-over-year to 62,073 units.
Exports to North America decreased 6.3 percent year-on-year to 37,490 units.
Exports to Europe decreased 23.5 percent year-on-year to 7,790 units.
