Tonka Truck produced by "Toys 'R' Us" reportedly burst into flames, causing a fire that razed the truck of a customer who bought the toy as a Christmas gift to his grandson.

Dalmen Harden, a resident of Bellingham, Washington, was driving his truck home after buying the Tonka 12V Ride-On Dump Truck as Christmas gift for his grandson when the incident happened, according to NBC News.

According to Mr. Harden, when the toy truck ignited, he stopped his truck and put out the fire. It was on his way back to the store to return the toy that it burst into flames once again, igniting his truck as well.

In an interview with the "King", an affiliate of NBC Seattle, Harden states that firefighters came to the rescue, dousing water to his truck to stop the fire. Motorists stopped to give way to the firefighters, causing a traffic jam that almost shut down an Interstate highway.

"It was just a toy for my grandson, who would have known", Harden stated when asked what caused the fire. The Tonka 12V Ride-On Dump Truck is a toy that is popular with small boys.

"Toys 'R' Us" is an American company that sells children's toys. Aside from toy trucks, it retails dolls, action figures, blocks, and learning games. The toy truck that was involved in the accident has been distributed by "Dynacraft", distributor of scooters, bicycles, and other battery-operated toys.

In her statement, spokeswoman of Toys R Us Nicole Hayes said that the incident with the12V Ride-On Dump Truck was an isolated case but for their customer's safety, stocks in many stores had been pulled out, according to The Denver Channel. The item had been deleted from the company website as well.

Toys 'R' Us apologized to Mr. Harden and he was given a refund. In addition, an investigation as to the incident the reason why the toy burst into flame has been conducted in cooperation with Dynacraft.
