2017 GMC Sierra: Beneath The Hood Scoop Of Car's 2500/3500HD WIth Diesel Option

GMC 2017 Sierra 2500 HD photos were released June 2016. The new design shows a functional Hood Scoop that functions as an air intake system. This new air intake system drives cool, dry air to the engine for sustained performance. This system was tested basing it on real-world driving conditions to guarantee the air system's performance and effectivity in all weather condition.

The air that is given to the engine is cooler since it is sucked from outside the hood and not under the hood. Cool air brings better performance to the engine, especially under load and that the engine and transmission temperatures increase quickly. The Duramax diesel runs better with a cooler air to maintain full power and vehicle speed even in the toughest conditions, reported by GM Authority.

There is an option of a 360-hp gasoline-fueled 6.0-liter V-8 remains standard but without the hood scoop. The V-8 diesel engine brings big news for 2017 Sierra. With the 6.6-liter diesel engine gives a 445 horsepower and 910 lb.-ft torque. These figures are higher comparing it over last year's Duramax. Other improvements are that this monster can run on B20 Biodiesel, a damped steel pan, and a new rocker cover and fuel system that GMC claims to reduce noise.

The engine is also proud of its new and stronger block, higher-flow pathways for oil and coolant, the electric turbocharger control, and the new fuel system. With the engine available in the 2017 Silverado, this can prove the quietness and the power of the engine.

The availability of choices by a buyer is available between 2500 and 3500 grades, two-wheel or four-wheel drive, and a four trim level which is: base, SLE, SLT, and Denali. A 3500HD Denali 4x4 with a longer available bed length starts at $59,830 and the base, regular cab 2500HD runs $35,085. When purchasing a diesel engine an additional $9,005 to $9,255 to the cost of the Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD, according to Car and Driver.
