Apple's much awaited Oct. 27 event did not quite sweep gadget freaks off their feet as those anxiously waiting for the Cupertino-based company to provide more details about a few highly anticipated devices including the iMac were left disappointed.
While Apple continues to remain mom about iMac 2016 release date, some optimistic tech buffs believe that the company will unveil the device in near future. Moreover, recently surfaced Intel documents and leaks indicate that the purported Apple desktop will pack Intel's Kaby Lake processors.
Following their trend of making big announcements for their upcoming gadgets, Apple has already made their MacBook Pro 2016, Apple Watch 2, and the iPhone 7 refreshes public. Nevertheless, fans are still hopeful that the company will announce an iMac refresh before the year ends. However, it seems that iMac 2016 release date heavily depends on the specs that Apple intends to include in their latest set of desktops.
While Apple continues to remain tight-lipped about the iMac 2016 release date and other details, there are umpteen clues from other companies including Intel and Best Buy that will give iMac fanatics ample of hints in terms of what's in store. In line with this, AnandTech reported that Intel published a Product Change Notification to let their customers know that they have put up a new assembly site in Vietnam and that it will show up on the label of their latest processors that commenced shipping last November.
In the aforesaid Product Change Notification, Intel cited 11 new processors including three Core i7 and seven Core i5, and one that is allegedly designed for a workstation, which many believe is the new iMac, according to MacWorld. A slew of reports that surfaced earlier last month coincides with this claim.
Not too long ago, a Best Buy leak hinting a new iMac powered by Intel Core i7 processor, coupled with 2 TB Fusion Drive and 5K Retina display surfaced online. Zealous fans of the iMac are hopeful that Apple will announce a Kaby Lake-powered iMac which may not be impossible citing the fact that Kaby Lake will offer support for Thunderbolt 3.
