2017 Land Rover Sport Coupe To Share Jaguar F Pace Parts And Be Company's First EV?

The 2017 Land Rover Sport Coupe, which will be the fourth model in the Land Rover range when it goes on sale next year, has been caught several times by spy photographers while undergoing some development testing on the open road and circuits. This vehicle, which will have a distinctly sporty look, shall be based on the same platform used by the new Jaguar F-Pace and could become the first production electric vehicle of the Land Rover, but also offer traditional mechanical as a choice.

2017 Land Rover Sport Coupe Coming Soon

Just a decade ago, the range of the luxury brand of Land Rover was composed of only one model, the Range Rover. But in time, the British manufacturer began to expand its range of vehicles, first with the arrival of the Range Rover Sport first generation and later, with the introduction of the Evoque, which have proved a commercial success. Soon there will be a fourth product in the range because the brand is working on the 2017 Range Rover Sport Coupe vigorously.

Sources also say that the 2017 Land Rover Sport Coupe will settle on the same aluminum platform that uses the new Jaguar F-Pace, the first crossover of Jaguar. This will share the range of engines, with yields of between 180 and 380 horsepower, but also point out that you may even expect a pure electric version, which would become the first Land Rover series production of this type as it can have the same electric powertrain currently in development for the I-Pace EV from Jaguar.

Additionally, Jaguar Land Rover's 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine with 542 hp on tap may be used by the range-topping model, offering similar performance to the impending F-Pace SVR.

Nothing is official as of the moment but we are excited to see the 2017 Land Rover Sport Coupe.
