Jaguar announced its 2013 US lineup this week. American buyers will choose between the flagship XJ sedan, the XF sedan, XK sports coupe, and the XK convertible.
The 2013 XF class has received two new powertrains: a 240 hp 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine getting 29 miles per hour on the highway; and a 340 hp supercharged 3-liter V6 engine replacing the previous 5-cylinder V8. With the V6 engine, the XF comes with an instinctive all-wheel drive system.
Also among the new features in the XF are an auto stop/start system to better regulate the fuel system, and an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
This new transmission will also be found throughout the XJ line, as will the all-wheel drive and stop/start systems. The 3-liter V6 engine will be one of four engines offered in the line. XJ buyers will have an option of a Sport & Speed Pack for the XJ Supercharged, and a Speed Pack for the XJ Supersport.
Another option for the model is a long or standard wheelbase.
Available in the US will be 30 units of the limited-edition XJL Ultimate, which Jaguar says "combines the performance of the 510 hp XJ Supersport drivetrain with a two-seater rear cabin outfitted like a bespoke luxury private jet."
The 2013 XF and XJ will also contain a new Meridian sound system, and upgraded infotainment and navigation systems.
New to the XK coupe and convertible models are a 20-inch wheelbase, and a dynamic pack option that allows XKR-S suspension tuning. There will also be a Grand Touring model in both a coupe and convertible that has a 5-liter V8 engine ranging from 385 to 550 hp.
