Singer Michelle Heaton Locks Baby in BMW, Faces Flak on Twitter

Former "Big Brother" and "Liberty X" star, Michelle Heaton, has been the target of Twitter abuse after she accidentally locked her six-month old baby in her car.

Describing it as the "worst hour" of her life, the "Big Brother" contestant tweeted about her distress on the social networking site, "I locked faith, my keys and my phone in the car. Somehow the car locked when I shut the door."

When the incident occurred, the television celebrity was accompanied by her husband Hugh Hanley and baby Faith. As soon as she tweeted, Heaton received a torrent of abuse from her followers and others questioning her how she had the time to tweet while her baby was locked inside her car.

Others questioned why the singer didn't take any other steps to prevent any serious incident from happening. Some advised Heaton to smash the window of her BMW and save her child. In response to that, Michelle Heaton said,

"FYI the fire brigade told me not to in case it hit faith (sic) as it's a small car!"

Luckily, Heaton was helped by the firemen who retrieved her baby from the car. She tweeted after that: "Me and Faith owes you. #britishfiremenrule."

Later Heaton tweeted to friends about all the responses she received from followers and Twitter users by updating:

"U should have seen the abuse I got for locking Faith in the car."
