The all-new Hyundai i30, which comes with a four-door hatchback, has been awarded the maximum five-star rating of safety by the ANCAP.
This second generation i30 model from Hyundai Motors has been awarded by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). The i30 is now the latest to be credited with a maximum five-star safety rating, following the all-new Elantra and Accent, the i40 range and the Veloster.
"The new generation i30 follows in the footsteps of Hyundai Motors' all-new vehicles achieving the highest safety rating achievable in the Australian market," said Oliver Mann, Marketing Director for Hyundai Motor Company, Australia, in an official press release. "It is further testament to Hyundai's continued commitment to bringing industry-leading occupant and pedestrian safety within reach of all Australians,"
The new Hyundai i30 successfully completed all tests across the five safety tests; which consists of frontal offset, side impact, pole, whiplash and pedestrian protection, landing it the maximum rating by the ANCAP. The test results seem to represent a significant improvement in total score when compared to the first generation five-star i30, rising from 32.54 to 35.69. Apart from its good ratings on safety, the new generation i30 comes with a comprehensive suite of active and passive safety technologies as standard.
The official press release states that the Active Safety systems include Vehicle Stability management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), ABS with EBD and Brake Assist System (BAS) and Cornering Brake Control (CBC) as well as, advanced features including the use of ultra-high tensile steel within the body shell and seven airbags in the interior standards. The model also has other standard multiple pedestrian safety features, such as the impact absorbing bonnet structure and member-less front-end side module which are installed in all new i30 models to prevent pedestrian injury in case of a collision. Reversing sensors are fitted in as well.
This latest rating by the ANCAP validates Hyundai's dedication to vehicular quality and safety, resulting in customer satisfaction.
