Porsche Rentals Available at Hertz

Ever dreamed of cruising around in a Porsche, but just didn't have the money to make the dream happen?

Hertz's new deal with the car maker will give the ordinary Joe a chance to drive around in luxury.

Customers can rent a limited number of the Panamera sport sedans under the Hertz Prestige Collection scheme. The Prestige Collection also includes Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac, Infiniti, Lincoln and Volvo.

"With the introduction of Porsche vehicles to the U.S. car rental industry, we're once again setting the bar in offering top-performing luxury cars and we're confident the Porsche Panamera will provide a unique driving experience for customers who are passionate about high-end performance vehicles," Mark P. Frissora, Hertz Chairman and CEO told The Washington Post.

Ordinarily, the Porsche Panamera comes with a price tag of $75,850, but in August Hertz customers will be able to rent the car at rates starting at $250 on the weekends. The cars are only available for customers in California, Florida and Nevada.

Hertz becomes the new sponsor of the 2012  Porsche IMSAGT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama and will also be the sponsor of the 2012 JDX Racing Team.

In a survey conducted by the Zagat 2012/13 U.S. Car Rental Survey, Hertz Corporation was voted as the top-rated for vehicles.

Editor's Note: The third paragraph inaccurately mentioned that Hertz was the first rental car company to have Porsche. Exotic Car Collection by Enterprise had already been offering Porsche vehicle for rental.
