American hip hop group Black Eyed Peas has reunited and returned with a revamped version of their 2003 hit "Where is the Love," emphasizing the world needs love again following the tragedies in 2016.

The group, consisting of will.i.am, Fergie, Taboo and apl.de.ap, recruited numerous artists for the newest rendition of the track namely Mary J. Blige, Nicole Scherzinger, Jamie Foxx, Jessie J, DJ Khaled, Justin Timberlake and more, according to Rolling Stone.

The star-studded collaboration also sees Timberlake reuniting with the Peas, as his vocals were also featured on the group's debut hit, which also served as a tribute to the victims of the September 11 attacks back in 2001. A children's choir consisting of 40 members also features on the track.

As for the track's new music video, it features appearances from Sandra Sterling, the aunt of Alton Sterling; Valerie Castile, the mother of Philando Castile and Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown. Both Sterling and Castile were killed by law enforcement.

Explaining the reasoning behind the track's revamping and new music video, group member will.i.am explained: '"I remember when the attack in Paris happened, people would say, 'We need Where Is the Love? again.' And then Belgium happened, and then Turkey, and then Orlando, and then Philando, and then Alton before him, and then Dallas."

He added "Everyone was calling on us like, 'We need that song again.'" He ended the short video clip by saying he hopes several millennials will be inspired by the track and urge them to take action. "Scream from the tallest mountain. Care like your freedom depends on it. Pay attention like that is at risk," he concluded, according to USA Today.

Proceeds from the track will go straight to will.i.am's foundation called "i.am.angel", a non-profit organization dedicated to "transforming lives through education, inspiration and opportunity."
