The New Toyota Sienta Specs, Variants, Price: Everything You Need to Know

The recently-announced Toyota Sienta is one which is believed to be poised higher than the Toyota Avanza, but not higher that the Toyota Innova, which would be replaced soon. One of its unique features includes having rear doors which slide to open, which is regarded as a top feature for cars of its type.

The Toyota Sienta's manufacturing is done at the Karawang Barat plant, located in Indonesia.  The car is equipped with an automatic transmission which controls the front wheels of the CVT variety, and also a 2NF-FE Dual VVT-I Engine with a fuel capacity of 1.5L.

Despite being mounted transversely, the powerplant has output ratings of 140Nm and 107PS, compared to the longitudinal orientation of the Toyota Avanza. Despite the CVT transmission of the Toyota Sienta not being equipped with an oil cooler of any sort, the manufacturer is positive that it is of good enough quality, and that it is suitable for driving condition in and around Malaysia, which include having to deal with fast wind speeds and a weather which is warm and humid.

The said powertrain will also be utilized for the upcoming version of the Toyota Vios, more details of which, will be announced later this year. The Sienta is loosely modelled after the platform of the Toyota Vios, with marked changes.

The differences between the two models begin with the bulkhead and the engine bay.The rear-half of the Toyota Sienta is made to order.

Furthermore, Toyota aims to include electronic stability control or VSC on the Toyota Sienta, and they aim to let the unit have a score of five stars out of five from the ASEAN NCAP, in a bid to increase sales. Other details include the car being equipped with just three airbags, but the company said that it could add four more, despite this causing the price of the Sienta to increase.
