Thanks to improvements in technology that paves the way for further automation in the auto manufacturing industry, manufacturing and producing cars have never been as popular than ever before.
Now, the human workforce is not anymore the trend as these human workers are now replaced by robots. The robots inside production facilities are fast, hygienic, and productive.
However, Elon Musk, the chief executive officer of Tesla takes the whole production process to the next stage. The soon to be released Tesla Model 3 will be made inside these new automated facilities that looks like coming straight from a sci-fi movie.
This should also not to be taken literally.
The factory would not be like the robots that are featured in the Terminator movie franchise, as Elon Musk disagrees that this kind of automation where robots turn against their masters is still impossible basing on today's technological standards.
However, Elon Musk also states on a conference call last Wednesday that the new production facility would really look like an "alien dreadnought" once it is fully developed in the next five years. It will have the feel and theme of an apocalyptic and utopic feel to it.
Musk adds, "It's like, 'What the hell is that?"
The production facility will be very complex than humans are not required to operate it in a direct manner, or to take part in the practical production of every Model 3.
Musk says, "You really can't have people in the production line itself. Otherwise, you'll automatically drop to people speed."
Tesla is improving and expanding in a very fast pace, which is why it needs to improve its speed and keep up with the pace of automated robots.
It is still important to note that there will still be people that will run the place, however, this is just in the supervision and management, ensuring that everything is working at full capacity and efficiency.
