The latest and the last installment of the Bourne saga - "Jason Bourne" - was released last July and according to preliminary data from Comscore, was the most watched of the month. Topping the box office and beating films such as "The Legend of Tarzan" "Now You See Me 2" and "Ice Age: Collision Course"

The film brought an unprecedented closure to the famous saga with its spectacular and highly talked about car chase filmed in Las Vegas. 

Action star Matt Damon who lead the film and played the former CIA assassin Jason Bourne revealed that it was exciting yet quite scary to film with all the cars getting clobbered and trucks exploding. The chase scene started when actor Vincent Cassel goes after Damon's Bourne character and drove a SWAT truck all over Vegas. The rest is history and this film now has the most number of cars destroyed in the action filled Bourne saga. 

But just how many cars had been collateral damage for the film? USA today had the chance to ask producer Frank Marshall and the answer will melt any car enthusiasts heart. 

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but I'm going to reveal, 170 cars had been destroyed on that car chase scene alone. Add to it that we need to use 45 specially made cars driven by specialists and then also wrecked it in the end"

USA today followed up on the question and asked how did he know this is the exact number of cars?
"Simple. I paid the bills. Now they are all in a trash heap somewhere." Marshall answered.

Although Marshall did not give an exact figure, it is estimated that cars destroyed in this Jason Bourne film amounted to about half a million dollars with car brands such as Toyota, Hyundai, and Ford in the mix. 

The return of Matt Damon in the Bourne saga has been a real event for fans of it, who sorely missed him in The Bourne Legacy. The film is still showing in Cinemas for those who want to watch the car chase scene.
