Nissan is set to unveil several concepts at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show this week, and one of them hints at the next generation of the electric Leaf.

The concept, which is a small electric hatchback, includes a V-shaped grille, arrow-like headlights and what looks like a split C-pillar, all of which are the latest styling themes used by Nissan, according to Motor Authority.

"The future version of car intelligence and electrification," reads the descriptor of the teaser image.

The Japanese automaker may also take after what Toyota does with its Prius and release several Leaf body styles, Green Car Reports noted.

"There could be more than one Leaf," Nissan executive vice president Trevor Mann told AutoCar. "We've always said it needn't be one car."

The 2016 Leaf is expected to have a much more powerful battery than its predecessor as well as a driving range high than 107 miles, Motor Authority reported. Other expected features include new connectivity technology and self-driving capabilities.

Nissan fans will only have to wait for a few days to see if the company's new electric car is indeed the next Leaf, as this year's Tokyo Motor Show will begin this Thursday, Oct. 29.
