Google announced Tuesday that the company is shipping its self-driving prototype cars down to The Lone Star State for testing, according to The Dallas Morning News.

For the most part, the self-driving cars have been tested in Mountain View, Calif., near Google's headquarters. A self-driving Lexus SUV has already been spotted in Austin, while NBC News reports that Google will also be sending a second specially equipped Lexus RX450h prototype sometime this week.

You may have seen small, bubble-shaped cars driving around Silicon Valley recently. Those were self-driving cars designed by Google itself. Interacting with traffic is going to be the main test, as some in the general public are skeptical of not only sitting in self-driving cars, but being on the same road as them. In fact, Google reported that 12 accidents occurred just in the month of May 2015, according to The Epoch Times, the first time Google has released any accident information in any testing report.

The self-driving car sent to Texas is operating north of downtown Austin, but no exact location was given. Safety drivers are aboard the vehicles in case of an "emergency."

"It's important for us to get experience testing our software in different driving environments, traffic patterns and road conditions - so we're ready to take on Austin's pedicabs, pickup trucks and everything in between," Google said in a statement. "Keep it weird for us, Austin, and visit our website to let us know how we're driving."
