Ferrari Not Happy With Chinese Grand Prix

Ferrari Formula One driver Fernando Alonso looked disappointed after finishing finishing ninth at the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Ferrari team had been working to support Alonso who won the second grand prix in Malaysia last month, but the luck did not happen in China. Alonso's teammate Felipe Massa came in thirteenth at the race.

"There’s no point in denying that we are really disappointed," said Stefano Domencialli, Ferrari Team Principal.

"We have the potential to get a better result than this yet we couldn’t manage it properly. Obviously, the failure has not left us very optimistic for Bahrain where the track traction and speed are going to be very important. And these are the essential areas where we need to put more of our effort."

The race in Bahrain will take place next Sunday on April 22. Alonso holds the defending champion position in Bahrain from 2010, and Massa was the runner up.

Prior to the Chinese Grand Prix, Alonso said that the Ferrari team was working hard to improve the car’s aerodynamics to improvise the machine’s speed, admitting the victory at Malaysia involved some amount of luck.

“We know we are far behind and we need to work more. One second is a big gap to recover in any Grand Prix. But the car has some big problems in terms of aerodynamics which has put us the optimism among the team that we can definitely recover. I also know that maybe not one second but a lot of time if we put a couple of things that are not working at the right place,” said Alonso.

Massa is his last year of the contract and hasn't scored a single point yet this year. According to New Straints Times, he is rumored to be replaced by Sergio Perez next season.
