Chrysler Improves Quality of Dodge Dart

The Fiat and Chrysler merger in 2009 seems to be already paying dividends with Chrysler’s U.S. sales growing more than 26 percent from 2010 to 2011.

To capitalize more on those dividends, the Chrysler officials knew they need to change the automaker’s reputation as a brand with superior designs with poor quality. With an intention of taking its serious step towards improving the brand’s image, the carmaker has plans to deliver the message with the Dodge Dart.

Chrysler invited reporters and auto analysts from across the country to Belvidere plant here on Monday to show how it will build the Dart. The company’s first compact sends since it discontinued the Dodge Neon way back in 2005. The Dodge Dart is scheduled to be in nearest of your showrooms by June.

Amen Alcidine, Quality Director for Manufacturing and Stamping Operations, says that the company feels proud in building the Dodge Dart. “We’re proud of what we’re doing here because it represents a significant change in how we take a car from design to execution. In the past, perhaps we didn’t take nice concepts to execution with pitfalls. It wasn’t as important to the old ownership. Now, we will never launch a car before it is ready.”
