The Aston Martin Vulcan makes its world debut at the 85th Geneva International Motor Show (Hall 5 Stand 5253) on Tuesday March 3. Here's what we know about the car so far.
What is it?
Company CEO Andy Palmer calls the car a "sports car for true sports car lovers" and it's not hard to see why.
The Vulcan is constructed around a two-seat carbon fiber monocoque and body, with a V12 mounted in the front. It has the same 2.8-meter wheelbase as the One-77 and wheels equipped with ceramic racing brake discs.
Oh, as if the Vulcan needed to look more menacing, it also shoots flames out of its side-exit exhausts. Terrifyingly awesome if you as us.
What's new or changed?
The vehicle, styled completely in-house by Aston Martin's design team, is powered by the company's naturally-aspirated, 7.0-liter V12 petrol engine.
The rear-wheel drive, mid-engine Vulcan draws extensively on Aston Martin's GT motorsport experience with its 800-plus bhp powerplant, created in conjunction with Aston Martin Racing
Performance data and complete technical details about the supercar will be released closer to its track debut later on this year.
Can I buy it yet?
You can't buy it yet, and just 24 will be available for purchase with a price tag of £1.5 million ($2.33 million, plus local taxes).
The supercar will give owners the chance to tailor their track day experience through a graduating scale of dynamic performance adjustments and detailed power. Since it's a track-only car, new owners are offered the chance to receive "intensive track driver training," which means going to driving school to learn how to drive your new toy.
