Nissan Shows the 2016 Maxima Sedan During the Super Bowl (FIRST IMAGES)

Even as the Super Bowl is going on, amid commercials from automakers and beer manufacturers alike, Nissan carefully chose to unveil the production version of its 2016 Maxima sedan.

And you wouldn't believe how.

Without much fanfare, the 2016 Maxima appears at the end of the advertisement (see below) that highlights a boy's life and his father's racing career. We certainly weren't expecting a full vehicle reveal embedded within an ad, but we're not complaining, either.
Aside from a gruff exhaust note piped in as the sedan departs the commercial, we know little about the production model. It bears a striking resemblance to the Sports Sedan Concept shown last year at auto shows, and features a nose much like the 2015 Murano's, while retaining the current Maxima's strong shoulder and side lines.
We'd call the surprise unveiling an interception—much like Chevrolet's surprise commercial for the Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck and 4G LTE wireless access—and one that advances the game.
