2014 Los Angeles Auto Show: 2015 Porsche Panamera Exclusive

In a blatant push to hop on the extended wheelbase luxury car bandwagon, Porsche has unveiled a new limited-production Panamera clearly targeted at the upper echelon of the luxury performance segment.

What is it?

Unveiled at the 2014 LA Auto Show, this new Panamera will be limited to 100 units worldwide, and is based on the mighty 570 horsepower Panamera Turbo S platform. A look through the Panamera Exclusive's interior quickly leads one to believe that Porsche designers took a page from the Rolls-Royce handbook on this one.

What's new or changed?

The extensive use of supple chestnut leathers, dark wood trim, and the pairing of custom tailored matching luggage gives this dark cruiser a very special feel when compared to the base model car. Porsche also incorporated massive 10.1" rear entertainment screens to make sure its rearward passengers are well looked after. Visually speaking, there is something oddly appealing about the side profile of the extended wheelbase car. It's almost as if the extra length draws away the Panamera's inherently bulbous rear and turns it into a more aesthetically pleasing uber-wagen. The real question is whether or not the auto market is really ready for a car wearing the Stuttgart badge to be built with the passenger as the focal point rather than the driver.

Can I buy one?

Only if you act quickly: a run of just 100 units is expected to be produced, and approximately 25 of them are bound for the United States. The cost? Over 250 grand.
