#MicrosoftEDU has launched the new Surface laptop, Windows 10 S, and the list of partners to use the new operating system. Here are the updates on the recently concluded May 2nd event of the tech giant.
SURFACE LAPTOP. Microsoft introduced a new laptop simply called, Surface laptop. As previously reported, the tech giant was speculated to launch a different Surface laptop instead of the anticipated new Surface Book. The new device has a traditional design which seems to be getting rid of the hybrid tablet-laptop design of the original Surface models.
The new Microsoft Surface laptop runs with an Intel Core i5 CPU. It also has a 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage.

The new Microsoft Surface laptop is expected to compete with MacBook Pro. The new device weighs less than the 13-inch rival.
The new laptop sports a touchscreen display. It also comes ready with a Surface Pen support.
The new Microsoft Surface laptop costs $999. Buyers can choose from its four color variants: gold, silver, gray and burgundy.
WINDOWS 10 S. #MicrosoftEDU has officially launched the latest operating system from the tech giant. Called the new Windows 10 S, the new operating system boasts of faster load times and more security features.
The new Windows 10 S claims better battery performance. It also claims to have speedy start times.
However, the new operating system only runs apps from Microsoft. In addition, it can only install third-party apps accredited by Microsoft's Windows store.
The new Windows 10 S enables teachers to handle laptops with ease. It is beneficial for schools as it has classroom chat groups, moderation tools, and assignment submissions.
The new operating system will be offered for free to all users of Windows Pro. However, those who want to have an upgrade can also opt for the Windows 10 Pro which will add a $49 cost.
LAPTOPS WITH WINDOWS 10 S. Microsoft has also announced the list of partners who will utilize the new Windows 10 S. Apparently, the new operating system will not be exclusive to Microsoft devices.
According to the report, the new operating system will also run in Acer Travelmate Spin B1 and HP ProBook x360 11 Education Edition. Both partners are offering more affordable laptops with the latest operating system.
