Toyota is closer to finishing 2015 as the world's top-selling automaker, outselling Volkswagen for the fifth month in a row in November.
The Japanese firm revealed Friday that it sold a total of 9.21 million between January and November of this year for group vehicle sales, beating VW, which sold 9.10 million cars in the same period, according to Reuters.
Toyota has been outselling VW on a year-to-date basis since July, with factors including the German automaker's emissions-cheating scandal that involved installing software that allowed some of its diesel-powered vehicles to emit less pollutants during tests than they do on the road.
VW's brand sales have been declining since October, and the company said earlier this month that they fell 2.2 percent year-to-year in November.
General Motors is currently in third place in group vehicle sales with over 8 million cars sold in the January-November period of 2015, Forbes reported. Toyota, VW and GM saw slight decreases compared to the same period in 2014, which is expected to happen again in 2016.
Toyota is expected to sell 10.1 million cars by the end of the year.
