The Toyota Land Cruiser, as we know it in 2015, has stood atop Toyota's sport-utility vehicle for nearly eight years. It's popular all over the world for its unmatched capability off-road and its luxurious interior, and for the coming model year, it may be getting a facelift.
Drive Arabia has the first, unconfirmed images. According to scans uploaded to Instagram, the Land Cruiser facelift will include a massive, six-sided grille, as well as wings that extend into the headlights. It's not the prettiest redesign, we'd argue, but it's a welcomed change after several years of stagnation. Updates to the rear are more subtle. The interior appears to receive a massive infotainment screen to replace the current unit, as well as rear-seat entertainment screens and revised instruments to tie it closer to the Toyota SUV family.
We're excited to see if the changes appear on the '16 Land Cruiser in the U.S., and on the related Lexus LX570—and we're still holding out for a diesel engine option at some point.
