Once a year, in a sleepy pocket of Texas outside Austin, smoky beef brisket meets rich foie gras.

That's when a cadre of slick, quick Europeans enters the region to participate and revel in the spectacle that is Formula One—arguably the most popular form of motorsports that you've never heard of.

Beginning tomorrow and stretching through the weekend, Formula One will take center stage, as Austin's Circuit of the Americas hosts the United States Grand Prix for the third time. From a 22-story observation tower to a Southwest-style parade held before the race, the F1 experience in Texas is truly unlike any other around the world. Teams will travel from as far away as Europe and Asia as part of a yearly global circuit.

Last year, we had the opportunity to visit Austin and attend the race with Infiniti Red Bull Racing. For first-timers, the weekend can be overwhelming and even intimidating. Luckily, we have you covered.

Browse the gallery above to sneak behind the scenes of the Formula One race, and experience a taste of how the European experience translates in Texas.
