Twitter has added another hashtag that integrates the microblogging service with Amazon's online marketplace, launching #AmazonWishList today.
If you've connected your Twitter account through amazon.com/social, the hashtag will put products into your Amazon wish list directly from Twitter, TechCrunch reported.
In May, Twitter introduced a feature that let users reply to any tweet about an Amazon product with "#AmazonCart" to put the item in their virtual cart. The tweet doesn't obligate users to make a purchase, simply marking items for the future.
The @MyAmazon Twitter account will respond to tweets using #AmazonWishList to let users know whether or not the product was successfully added to their carts, PCWorld.com reported.
While it has been established as a social media icon, Twitter's little blue bird hasn't been as profitable as investors had hoped, with the site still figuring out how to make money from its 140-character messaging service.
Twitter, which has been depending on sponsored tweets from advertisers for revenue, doesn't get a cut from purchases when users employ #AmazonCart, a spokeswoman told CNET earlier this year.
The site has additionally been experimenting with a Buy button to let users purchase products from test partners directly from a tweet.
After tapping the "Buy" button embedded in a tweet, users will be sent to a shipping and payment information page to connect with the merchant for delivery.
"Users will get access to offers and merchandise they can't get anywhere else and can act on them right in the Twitter apps for Android and iOS," the company said in a blog post.
