The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta sedan is priced at $17,035, which includes $820 in shipping fees and reflects an increase of $520 compared with last year's model.
The updated Jetta lineup is expected in Volkswagen showrooms in late September, Edmunds.com reported. The sedan competes in its segment with the Chevrolet Cruze, Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Mazda 3.
Featuring some minor changes, the refreshed Jetta sedan has minor styling tweaks along with new technology features such as new LED daytime running lights and a lighting system that adapts with the steering, according to Edmunds. The new Jetta also has an updated trunk, taillights, rear logos and bumper.
The fully optioned Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid SEL Premium model begins at $32,490 with shipping fees, while the Jetta TDI Clean Diesel option starts at $22,460, which includes destination charges.
When it arrives in September, the 2015 Jetta lineup will be missing the Jetta SportWagen since the automaker plans a replacement model for next year.
Touted as larger and more fuel-efficient, the 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen is expected to go on sale early next year, Volkswagen spokesman Mark Gillies told Edmunds.
When the new sport option launches, Volkswagen will offer a limited-edition 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Sport that will start at $21,715 with shipping. Based on the Jetta 1.8T SE, the package will include "a sport suspension, front sport seats, navigation system with rearview camera, rear spoiler and unique interior trim."
