Two of Tesla's biggest fans recently got Elon Musk's attention with an open letter taken out as a full-page advertisement, and the CEO said on Sunday that "many" of their ideas would be part of the company's future vehicles.
The self-described "VERY highly satisfied Tesla owners," who hail from Southold, N.Y., suggested some changes to improve safety, convenience and connection with future customers, The Huffington Post reported. The open letter ran in local Silicon Valley newspaper Palo Alto Weekly.
Musk took a photo of the ad and tweeted the image to his 860,000 followers.
"Ad taken out in Palo Alto Daily by two Model S owners is right," he wrote in the tweet. "Many of the suggestions will be implemented soon."
The New York Tesla owners made it clear that they are pleased with their vehicles while pointing out possible changes.
"Thank you for building the great American car," the couple wrote in the letter's introduction. "The Tesla introduces fun, comfort and advanced reliability into a phenomenal driving experience."
The letter went on to list areas where Tesla could improve in its manufacturing and marketing, including the addition of blind spot monitors, sound sensors and a voice-activated dialing option for safety; a redesigned center console and a power charging cap that will automatically close for convenience; and more public promotion of the cars for better advertising.
"People are fascinated by my Tesla, and my wife's Tesla," the couple wrote. "Promotion of your cars to the general public could only have a positive effect, creating many additional enthusiastic Tesla owners."
