2015 Hyundai Equus Luxury Sedan Priced at $62,450

The 2015 Hyundai Equus Signature five-passenger sedan is priced at $62,450, which includes $950 in shipping fees.

Available now, the full-size luxury model reflects a small $280 price jump compared with the 2014 version, Edmunds.com reported. For the top-of-the-line Equus Ultimate model, buyers will be paying $69,700 with shipping.

The 2015 Equus, which is a carryover model, runs on a 429-horsepower 5-liter GDI V8 engine matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The sedan was revamped for the 2014 model year with a restyled exterior, new interior touches and updated suspension.

For the exterior, the Equus features 19-inch alloy wheels, jeweled designs on the headlamps and LED fog lamps in the standard trim.

"The front grille chrome bars are thin, with sharp contrast to the blacked-out portions of the grille for a sporty look, while the front fascia offers a modern premium appearance that includes lower fascia opening strakes," Hyundai described.

Safety technologies include a standard Blind Spot Detection system that puts blind spot vehicle alerts in both mirrors, while the fully optioned Ultimate version has a display with vehicle speed, step-by-step navigation, cruise control indicators and other driving data. The Equus is equipped with nine air bags.

In the Ultimate model, the Equus has an automatic door-closing system that ensures a door is secured once it is nearly closed manually.

The sedan competes in its segment with the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XJ and Mercedes-Benz S-Class, according to Edmunds.
