Though the 2015 Volvo XC90 hasn't been unveiled yet officially, the automaker did release some shocking information regarding its new SUV.
The new XC90's front end features T-shaped running lights patterned after Thor's hammer, according to a statement made by the automaker this week in a company release.
Photos were released by Volvo as well to get fans excited for the debut.
Interested customers can expect the Swedish seven-seat vehicle to be unveiled in two weeks in Stockholm, according to the automaker.
The face is "distinguished by its T-shaped running lights, christened 'Thor's hammer' by the design team after the shape of the hammer used by the famous Norse god of thunder Thor," said Volvo about the new car.
"Anyone who looks in their rear-view mirror is going to know immediately that there is a new XC90 behind them," said Thomas Ingenlath, Senior Vice President Design of Volvo Car Group, according to the release. "The XC90 is a car that has presence on the road."
The SUV was designed to honor its Swedish heritage and make use of Swedish materials.
For example, the gearshift lever is made of crystal from Orrefors, the famous Swedish glassmaker.
Thor, the Norse god of thunder, used his hammer to battle giants, dragons, and other creatures.
The XC90 will battle for sales against the 2015 Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, and Buick Enclave, among other vehicles.
"SPA and the XC90 are firm evidence of our Volvo-by-Volvo strategy. The XC90's outstanding combination of luxury, space, versatility, efficiency and safety will bring the SUV segment into a new dimension, just as the original XC90 did in 2002," said Dr. Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President, Research and Development of Volvo Car Group, according to the release.
Details like U.S. pricing and launch time have not been confirmed yet.
