General Motors issued six more recalls on Wednesday that affect 717,950 vehicles altogether and include Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and more models.
The automaker has been striving for new vigilance when it comes to safety in the wake of an infamous small car recall earlier this year that has been connected with at least 54 crashes and 13 deaths.
"If we identify an issue--large or small--that might affect the safety of our customers, we will act decisively," said Jeff Boyer, GM's vice president for global vehicle safety, as quoted by the Los Angeles Times.
The largest recall includes 414,333 vehicles "equipped with power height adjustable driver or front passenger seats," affecting the 2011-'12 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010-'12 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain, 2011-'12 Buick Regal and LaCrosse and 2010-'12 Cadillac SRX models in the U.S.
Dealers will replace a bolt in the seat's height adjustment system that can fall out. The automaker is aware of one crash and three injuries related to the problem.
In another recall Wednesday, GM announced that 124,008 vehicles have an incomplete weld in part of the seat assembly: the 2014 Chevrolet Caprice, 2014 Chevrolet SS, 2014-'15 Chevrolet Silverado, 2013-'14 Cadillac ATS, 2014 Cadillac CTS, 2014 Cadillac ELR, 2013-'14 Buick Encore and 2014-'15 GMC Sierra models.
GM is also recalling 120,426 model year 2011-'13 Buick Regal and 2013 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles that have an electric glitch. Dealers will reprogram the cars.
Additionally, the automaker will make repairs on 57,242 Chevrolet Impalas from the 2014 model year. The vehicles have belt-drive electric power steering that can malfunction due to a bad electrical connection. The issue has been connected to one accident but no injuries.
In the last two recalls, small numbers of 2014-'15 Chevrolet and 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon/Yukon Denali models will be repaired for minor problems.
GM went about three weeks without making any recalls before Wednesday's announcement. The beleaguered automaker has recalled around 26 million vehicles in the U.S. in 2014, which has been a record year for recalls across the industry.
