Car Owner Creates Brilliant Ad to Sell 1999 Holden Barina (WATCH)

An Australian creative director got together with some of his friends to create a sleek car ad to sell his junkyard-worthy three-door sedan.

The car is listed for just $1,000, but the commercial makes it seem like it's worth much more.

David Johns, a Sydney-based digital video expert who works for an Australian agency called Chimney, spent $8,000 on the ad and website to market the 1999 Holden Barina, according to the Daily News.

"Why would I spend $8,000 doing work to sell a car worth $1,000 to $2,000?" Johns said to news.com.au. "Honestly, because I had the time and I just wanted to show off my skills."

"There's so much competition for selling used cars, I wanted to do something clever," he added.

The clip includes an amped techno score and a scene with Johns in sunglasses and a suit piloting the three-door car through urban streets.

Those who are interested in buying the car are told to tweet offers to #buymybarina or visit the website, buymybarina.com.

The video, which was posted on July 13, had over 217,000 views as of press time.

"I will offer you a box of crackerjacks and a gently used loofa," reads on tweet sent to Johns.

Johns said he has received serious bids, including one person offering $1,000, according to the Daily News.
