Harley-Davidson Recalls 66,000 2014 Touring, CVO Touring Motorcycles

Harley-Davison is recalling over 66,000 2014 Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles due to front wheels that can lock up, increasing the risk of a crash.

All motorcycles with anti-lock brakes manufactured from July 1, 2013, and May 7, 2014, are affected by the recall, according to the Associated Press.

Harley-Davidson confirmed that the front brake line can get "pinched" between the fuel tank and the frame.

If this occurs, it could cause front brake fluid pressure to increase. This increases the chance that the front wheel could lock up while the bike is being used.

At least five crashes and two minor injuries have been reported to Harley Davidson relating to the defect.

The issue was discovered last fall through warranty claims, according to the Associated Press.

Dealers are being instructed to replace all affected brake lines and attach straps to hold them in place. All repairs will be made, free of charge.

Approximately 66,421 bikes are affected by the recall.

Harley-Davidson will start sending out notices to owners later this month.

An official recall date has not been set yet by the company.
