A man on a mission to make his first-ever potato salad has far surpassed his goal of garnering $10 on Kickstarter.
Zack Danger Brown launched the project a few days ago and has already raised more than $22,000 on the crowdfunding site, Yahoo Tech reported.
"Basically I'm just making potato salad. I haven't decided what kind yet," the Ohio man wrote on the Kickstarter project page.
After his initial $10 goal was surpassed, Brown kept adding various levels as the donations came rolling in.
At $35, Brown promised four times as much potato salad. As media outlets began to cover the story and money kept coming, Brown had to keep adding incentives.
"My kitchen is too small!" he wrote at the $3,000 mark. "I will rent out a party hall and invite the whole internet to the potato salad party (only $10 and above will be allowed in the kitchen)! The internet loves potato salad! Let's show them that potato salad loves the internet!!"
Currently, potato salad fans who donate $35 or more will receive a t-shirt, while backers who give $50 or more will receive a potato salad recipe book.
Of course, donors have to keep in mind the main risk with the project, which will be funded on Aug. 2.
"It might not be that good," Brown warned on the project page. "It's my first potato salad."
