Good News for Advertisers: Vine Introduces Loop Count

Vine has launched loop count, something that should make it a gold mine for advertisers.

The six-second videos were previously only tracked through likes and comments, both of which require an app log-in, but loop count will record how many times a Vine video is watched on repeat, Forbes reported.

Introduced on Tuesday, Vine loop count will give marketers a better grasp on a video's reach.

Brands can be boosted simply by bringing viewers to their videos, according to Nicholas Megalis, who has created sponsored Vines for companies and has 4.3 million followers on Vine.

"Understand that people don't have to buy your stuff," he told AdAge in March. "They don't have to click like on your video. They don't have to share it. Why expect them to? Unless you create something incredible and something fun and something real and just respect the intelligence of the people who support you, that's the bottom line."

Vine has been tracking video loops since April 3, according to USA TODAY. After the update, Vine loop counts should be seen on both mobile and Web versions of the app.

The update for Vine, which is owned by Twitter, additionally includes notifications for when posts reach a certain number of likes, i.e., 25 or 100.
