YouTube's Sirius XM Radio Show Will be Hosted by Jenna Marbles

YouTube has announced that it will debut a new weekly radio show on satellite radio service Sirius XM later this month that will feature the video website's most popular and emerging artists, according to a joint statement released by both companies.

The show is called "The YouTube 15," and will be hosted by Jenna Marbles.

Marbles is one of YouTube's biggest stars, whose videos have helped her collect over 13 million subscribers to her channel.

"I'm incredibly excited to be working in a new medium with SiriusXM," Marbles said in a statement, according to Variety.com. "I think we are going to make a really cool show, and I'm honored that they picked me to do it."

YouTube said the show will debut on July 11 according to Reuters.

Sirius XM listeners can listen to the show on the SiriusXM Hits 1 channel, which usually plays pop, R&B, rock, and hip-hop hits.

The show marks the first time YouTube, which is owned by Google, has partnered with another platform for a program about music, according to Reuters.

"Our nationwide audience tunes to SiriusXM Hits 1 as the home of the best pop music and the first place to play new artists and new music," said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's president and chief content officer, according to Variety.com. "With 'The YouTube 15,' we will take that promise of music discovery even further, delivering songs emerging from YouTube directly into the car and also through the SiriusXM app for smartphones and tablets."

The show was created to expose listeners to a curated selection from the large library of YouTube music videos, according to Greenstein.

The songs will reflect "what's trending and very popular" so that listeners can know what the top hits are on YouTube, Greenstein said.

"Equally importantly, you are going to hear new and emerging music that many people for sure will not have heard," he added.

Sirius XM has 25.8 million subscribers.
