Kia Motors America has announced that it is recalling over 3,000 2014 Kia Cadenza sedans with 19-inch non-chrome aluminum wheels.

The Kia models were recalled because the wheels may fracture, according to a report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"The wheels on the affected vehicles may fracture from impacts such as large, deep potholes," said NHTSA in its summary of the issue. "A wheel fracture could cause the circular rim to separate, resulting in a loss of tire pressure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Affected vehicles were manufactured from February 1, 2013 through August 27, 2013.

Kia said to federal safety regulators that no injuries have been linked to the recall.

Approximately 3,107 vehicles are affected by the recall. 

The 18-inch non-chrome aluminum alloy wheel and 19-inch chrome aluminum alloy wheels are not affected by the recall.

Kia dealers are being instructed to replace the wheels with new wheels.

All repairs will be made free of charge.

The recall will begin sometime later on this month. If your vehicle is experiencing any issues it is best to bring your vehicle in to your local dealer to have it inspected.
